I have had the opportunity to manage social media pages for many companies and various properties within those companies. I have experience planning social media strategies, content planning, posting, and interacting. I have experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and YouTube.
Below are some examples of social media strategies that I have either been a part of or managed independently.
Managing a health unit’s social media accounts during regular times is a lot of work, but doing it during a pandemic takes it to a whole new level. Monitoring comments and responding to direct messages were done several times a day.
I created social posts for several platforms based on current needs and identified priorities. I helped with copy and created graphics as required, utilizing stock images were possible to decrease production time.
I also managed monthly budgets for boosting and paid advertisements on Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads and Snapchat.
I was able to greatly exceed all goals for expanding reach and follows.
This company had very little social media presence when I started working with them. During my time there, I helped to grow the Facebook subscriber base by over 16 times the original number.
One of the main goals of social media for this company was to drive traffic to the website. We accomplished this, making social media traffic a close second to Google. In fact, social media even outranked Google on some months.
Interaction was key to help growing this brand. The community was very close, and many people carried out conversions through our social media platforms. We garnered this in an Ambassador program, which allowed the community to post on our site and then share that content on their personal social media accounts.
While working with Thomson Reuters, I managed social media for FindLaw Canada. This site is home to legal information and news for the average person. There is also a listing of lawyers in Canada.
The main goal for the social media pages was to raise awareness of the information available on the website, and to drive traffic to it. During my time with the company, I was able to achieve this goal with a marked increase in both page follows and site traffic from social media.
One of the strategies to raise awareness was to have all the contributors to the website create company related Twitter accounts. They then shared content that they posted, as well as shared news stories and tweets that they found of interest. This allowed fans of the site to follow specific contributors whose content and point of view they enjoyed.
