Managing a health unit’s social media accounts during regular times is a lot of work, but doing it during a pandemic takes it to a whole new level. Monitoring comments and responding to direct messages were done several times a day.
I created social posts for several platforms based on current needs and identified priorities. I helped with copy and created graphics as required, utilizing stock images where possible to decrease production time.
I also managed monthly budgets for boosting and paid advertisements on Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads and Snapchat.
I used Airtable to create a new internal process for planning, tracking, and approving social media posts. Airtable was used in a grid format to enter the details for every post. A calendar view was used for planning so that posts were spread out throughout the week. A custom view was used to show posts in a format similar to social media sites so the required parties could sign off and approve the posts. This process became essential when the communications team expanded during COVID-19, and we were often posting several times a day.
I was able to greatly exceed all goals for expanding reach and follows.
